Griess began his career as an Architectural Designer locally at SSH Architecture, then went to Davis Design as Project Manager-Architectural Designer and most recently was Director of Central Operations for the Department of Health and Human Services (that included executing the strategic planning and action of DHHS’ physical plant portfolio, including 97 locations and 2.7 million square feet of office and hospital space) as well as a Freelance Designer Consultant for residential and commercial developers.
His private and public sector experiences greatly benefit the university and he is a Husker – having graduated with two degrees and taught courses. He has a Bachelor of Science in Design, Architecture degree and a Master of Architecture degree. Griess taught as an Adjunct Professor-Structural Optimization.
